The Linda Vista Town Council (LVTC) is our partner to help improve the quality of life here in the Linda Vista Community.   Below is a New Year's message from the Town Council President.

2010 – A Year for Volunteering

We have just finished up what was a tough year for many residents and local organizations in Linda Vista, as well as California.  The City budget shortfall caused a review of the City’s expenditures.  This review temporarily suspended funds for the Linda Vista View newsletter.  The funds are being restored and we hope to get the next newsletter out in 1-2 months.

Your Board has been meeting on the issues to tackle in 2010 (of which the newsletter is one).  We have quite a list and we are prioritizing the list so we can show it at the January membership meeting for your comments and suggestions.

There are many items and we will need additional help from you if we are to tackle a significant number of them.  Only a few of them require additional funds.  Most require your help in time and energy as volunteers on different tasks.

This is a common theme for most of our local agencies and organizations as the budget cuts of the downturn reduce staffs at the Library, the Park and Recreation Center, our schools, Bayside Community Center, among others.

We hope that you can help us make up these shortfalls by volunteering to help when and where you can.  Even the contribution of a few hours a week from many of us can add up to significant help to Linda Vista.
